Waiting On A Miracle

Ephesians 3:20 (NLT) — 20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

John 11:1–4 (NLT) — 1 A man named Lazarus was sick. He lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha. 2 This is the Mary who later poured the expensive perfume on the Lord’s feet and wiped them with her hair. Her brother, Lazarus, was sick. 3 So the two sisters sent a message to Jesus telling him, “Lord, your dear friend is very sick.” 4 But when Jesus heard about it he said, “Lazarus’s sickness will not end in death. No, it happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God will receive glory from this.”

John 11:5 (NLT) — 5 So although Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus,

John 11:5–6 (NLT) — 5 So although Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, 6 he stayed where he was for the next two days.

Here is how we know that we are waiting well…..

1. Do we ________ or do we ___________?

Philippians 4:12–13 (NLT) — 12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. 13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

2. Do we _______ or do we __________?

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) — 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Jeremiah 29:4 (NLT) — 4 This is what the Lord of Heavens Armies, the God of Israel, says to all the captives he has exiled to Babylon from Jerusalem:

Jeremiah 29:5 (NLT) — 5 “Build homes, and plan to stay. Plant gardens, and eat the food they produce.

Jeremiah 29:6 (NLT) — 6 Marry and have children. Then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren. Multiply! Do not dwindle away!

John 11:8–10 (NLT) — 8 But his disciples objected. “Rabbi,” they said, “only a few days ago the people in Judea were trying to stone you. Are you going there again?” 9 Jesus replied, “There are twelve hours of daylight every day. During the day people can walk safely. They can see because they have the light of this world. 10 But at night there is danger of stumbling because they have no light.”

John 11:21–25 (NLT) — 21 Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask.” 23 Jesus told her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 “Yes,” Martha said, “he will rise when everyone else rises, at the last day.” 25 Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.

John 11:41–44 (NLT) — 41 So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, thank you for hearing me. 42 You always hear me, but I said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me.” 43 Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!”

John 12:9 (NLT) — 9 When all the people heard of Jesus’ arrival, they flocked to see him and also to see Lazarus, the man Jesus had raised from the dead.

John 12:9–11 (NLT) — 9 When all the people heard of Jesus’ arrival, they flocked to see him and also to see Lazarus, the man Jesus had raised from the dead. 10 Then the leading priests decided to kill Lazarus, too, 11 for it was because of him that many of the people had deserted them and believed in Jesus.
